Reconstruction of temperature change in the Wolong area of ​​western Sichuan in the past 159 years using the tree ring width data

Based on the annual ring width data of the Abies faxoniana in the Wolong area of ​​the Western Sichuan Basin, the relationship between the tree ring width and climatic factors in the area was analyzed, and the summer (June-August) temperature in the area since 1850 was rebuilt Change history. The results show that the most obvious feature of the temperature change in the Wolong area of ​​western Sichuan in the past 159 years is the significant warming trend since the 1940s, while the temperature was significantly lower before the 1940s, and the main low temperature period was 1850 – 1870 and 1890–1930. The cold and warm periods of this temperature series have good correspondence with the ice core and glacier advance and retreat data in the nearby area, as well as the tree ring chronology sensitive to the summer temperature response, which indicates that the reconstructed series recorded reliable regional-scale temperature signals. Wavelet analysis of the reconstructed temperature series shows that the more obvious periods are 2–8 years and 10–16 years, and these periods may have a certain relationship with the El Niño-Southern Oscillation climate system and the solar activity cycle.
