Many foods and agricultural products used in the international market are packed in steel drums, and the hygienic requirements for the paint on the inner wall have attracted wide attention from all countries.

As early as the 1950s, the US FDA required a high degree of attention to the detection of food and agricultural packaging drums. In order to meet the needs of the international market, China has also made specific health regulations for the export of food and agricultural product packaging barrels. According to the regulations, food grade coatings, mainly epoxy/polyamide coatings, and perchloroethylene coatings, organic fluorine coatings, etc., are allowed on the inner wall of the packaging drum. At present, the inner coated steel drums used for food and agricultural products in China include honey buckets, juice buckets, ketchup buckets, etc. If the inner wall coating of the inner coating drum for these foods is used, the sanitary quality will not meet the safety and hygiene requirements. It will cause secondary pollution to food.

Epoxy/polyamide coatings are epoxy-based coatings, and epoxy-based coatings are also cured film-forming coatings. According to the provisions of GB9686-88 "Sanitary Standard for Polyamide Epoxy Resin Coatings on Inner Walls of Food Containers", the evaporation residue of polyamide epoxy resin coatings in various solvents should be controlled below 30mg/l.

The perchloroethylene coating is made of perchloroethylene resin as a raw material, and is mixed with a plasticizer. After being coated or sprayed, the inner wall of the drum is naturally dried to form a film.

Organic fluorine coatings have the characteristics of anti-adhesion and corrosion resistance, but their acid resistance is poor, so it is widely used in the inner coated steel drums containing honey.

At present, most of the packaging barrel manufacturers use the spray cleaning and drying line for cleaning when cleaning the inner wall of the drum. The cleaning agent is usually chromate, which may cause the chromium salt to remain on the surface of the container and be mixed into the inner coating. Therefore, in the production of honey-coated steel drums, the inner coated honey-coated steel drums should be inspected in accordance with GB1167-89 "Sanitary Standard for Polytetrafluoroethylene Coatings on the Inner Wall of Food Containers". The standard stipulates that the appropriate amount of chromium and fluorine should be controlled below 0.01 mg/l and 0.2 mg/l, respectively.

In addition, when PTFE is baked, if the temperature reaches 280 ° C, fission occurs, resulting in a highly volatile toxic fluoride. Therefore, when using Teflon coated honey to wrap steel drums, the general baking temperature should not exceed 250 °C.

In recent years, juices, ketchup, and honey exported from China have often been returned due to excessive pesticide residues. As a food packaging drum, the residual amount of the coating solvent on the inner wall should be controlled. When producing packaging drums in food, be sure to follow the food safety requirements to ensure that the food packaging drums are clean and the paint is used in accordance with relevant requirements. To this end, a monitoring system should be formed to interlock with each other. Enterprises using food packaging drums should obtain packaging hygiene inspection reports from packaging drum manufacturers; packaging barrel manufacturers should obtain food safety and hygiene for interior coatings from coating suppliers. Inspection Report. At the same time, the relevant departments should also conduct regular supervision and inspection of the food packaging barrels and issue inspection reports.
