1. Choose different trays according to different environments

Environmental Humidity: Due to the strong hygroscopicity of some material trays, such as pine wood pallets and plywood pallets should not be used in a humid environment, otherwise it will directly affect the service life. Paper trays are usually used for single use at the outlet, especially without water.

Environmental cleanliness requirements: Consider the environmental pollution of the tray. In a highly polluted environment, we must choose a tray that is resistant to contamination and easy to clean. Such as plastic trays, composite plastic trays, etc., depending on the situation is very important.

There are also special requirements for the materials carried by the pallets. In special cases, when the pallets are corrosive or the loaded goods require pallets with a high degree of cleanliness, then a strong corrosion-resistant plastic pallet must be selected. Or plastic composite tray.

2. Pallet use affects tray selection

The first thing to consider is whether your pallets carry goods for export? For export goods, countries basically require fumigation and insecticidal treatment of raw wood (such as pine) packaging materials, which is equivalent to an increase in export costs, so the export trays should try to choose a simple fumigation-free plywood tray or plastic tray. Due to the high price of plastic pallets, plywood pallets are preferred for products that are not corrosive to the cargo or require low levels of pallet cleaning.

Secondly, pallets used for stacking pallets should be made of rigid, non-deformable, dynamically loaded pallets; wooden pallets such as steel pallets and wood hard hardwood.

If the tray is used on a shelf in a three-dimensional library, consider whether the structure of the tray is suitable for placement on the shelf. Since the goods can only be picked up from the shelves in two directions, the trays used on the shelves should use trays that are four-pronged as far as possible. This facilitates the forklift to pick up the goods and improves work efficiency.

Furthermore, depending on whether or not the pallets are to be stacked after loading the goods, it is decided whether one-sided or two-sided pallets are to be selected. Single-sided pallets have only one bearing surface. If the underlying cargo carrying capacity is not strong, it is not suitable for stacking. Otherwise, it will easily cause damage to the underlying cargo. Therefore, after the goods are transferred, they need to be stacked in multiple layers, and the two-sided pallets should be selected as much as possible.

3. Tray performance indicators

The most important performance of the pallet is the load requirement. The load capacity includes:

Static capacity

Static loading refers to the maximum load weight that the pallet can hold on a flat and rigid surface and the goods are evenly laid on the pallet.

Dynamic capacity

Dynamic load refers to the maximum load weight that the pallet can hold evenly when the pallet is in a dynamic operation when using a forklift or other handling equipment.

Racked capacity

Refers to the maximum load weight that the pallets can be placed evenly on the pallet when the pallets are strung across the beams on racks or other similar shelves.


Therefore, the selection of the tray must first determine its load requirements. The load requirement depends on the use of the tray. When the tray is to be stored on the rack, the load on the rack is the most important. If the export pallet needs a forklift, the dynamic load is the most important.

At the same time, the load capacity of the tray has a lot to do with the placement of the goods on the tray. If the weight of the goods is not uniform, or the machine equipment has supporting feet, it is not the entire tray surface, and the load capacity of the tray is more High, need to do a specific analysis of the design of the tray structure.
