The Ecc Model 815 x-ray kvp meter / exposure time measurement meter measures the maximum or peak output voltage of the x-rays emitted by tungsten. Ecc Model 815 is a stable, digital instrument for measuring x-ray intensity for individuals. This instrument is not only used for x-ray acceleration voltage, but also for measuring the length of exposure time. Two functions can be checked on the instrument in the form of kv.
General operating instructions
Switch setting
In order to keep the operation simple and straightforward, the instrument itself has only two switches on the front panel.
On / off button
On / off button
The on / off button is used to switch the instrument. The switch is bright green. When the instrument is on, its light will turn to bright green. When the instrument is not in use, remember to turn off the button to save battery power.
Adjustment switch
The adjustment switch has two functions:
1. Initially the switch is turned on and the instrument switches to "High Resolution" mode.
2. After the Kvp reading is obtained, pressing this adjustment switch will provide additional information.
1. High resolution / high speed adjustment mode
When the instrument is turned on for the first time, it will prompt "Normal" or "High Speed" mode. When using the "Normal" mode, the 815 meter measures x-ray time to 100ms (0.1 second) Pressing the button once will put the instrument in "High Resolution" mode (History), and the X-ray exposure will take at least 200 ms (0.2 seconds) when the high speed mode (Hisp Speed ​​Mode) is to be used x Radiation exposure time must be at least 100 ms (1/10 seconds). When using the meter in high-resolution mode, the exposure time must be at least 200 ms (0.2 seconds)
When the instrument is set in high-resolution mode, he will keep it in high-resolution mode until it is turned off. To use it in high-speed or general-purpose mode, turn off the power and then turn it on again. Operation instructions are described in more detail in the following sections.
Second, additional information display
After the measurement, the kvp value will be displayed. Additional information will be displayed as soon as the button is pressed, and the meter will then display the following information:

The waveform type and exposure time will be displayed in 1.2 seconds. After the additional information is displayed, the display will revert to kvp mode, and the watch will prepare for the next reading. In order to use the Model815 x-ray meter for kvp measurement, in many cases it only needs to turn on this instrument to directly measure. However, the detection target should be placed in the center of the lamp, so that the exposure value can be detected.
To ensure accurate readings, the following points should be remembered.
1. Current (mA)
When the target measured by Model 815 is in the proper position, its operating accuracy is reduced to 70mA, and the best accuracy is obtained between 10mA and 50mA.
2. Height
For half-wave x-rays in the 7 to 15 mA output range, its cone waveform should be 1/2 to 2 inches above the instrument. For x-rays at 25 to 100 mA output, place the instrument 8 to 16 inches above the instrument (1 inch = 2.540cm)
3. Calibration (collimation)
X-ray calibration should move to the center of the target by 2 ″ each time.
4. Exposure time
He has two modes that require different exposure times.
Exposure time must be at least 0.1 second (100ms) in "normal" or "high speed" mode
The instrument can measure the kvp value within a 100ms exposure time, in order to reduce wear and tear on the top and operate under radiation. Exposure time greater than 100ms is not necessary. When the instrument is used to measure the exposure time, a slightly longer exposure is allowed.
In high-resolution mode, the x-ray exposure time is at least 0.2s (200ms). The kvp value measured by the instrument between the first 200ms time reduces the wear and tear on the top, and operates under radiation. Exposure time greater than 200ms is not necessary. When the instrument is used to measure the exposure time, a long exposure time is allowed.
5. Waveform
In order to stabilize the X-ray when measuring the maximum or peak acceleration voltage of this instrument, the X-ray exposure time should be slightly delayed beyond 30ms. The instrument will display the peak value of the acceleration voltage of the x-ray exposure for the remaining time.
6. Initialize the reading
The x-ray detector will accumulate charge when it is not in use. When the initialization switch is turned on, the instrument requires a beam of radiation to work accurately.
Exposure time measurement
815 type kvp meter will also measure the kvp value when measuring the exposure time. In order to display the exposure time after measurement, press the white button, the exposure time will display the result in ms on the display. In the "normal" or "high speed" mode, the exposure time is less than 100ms can not be measured. X-ray exposure time is at least 100ms. More accurate exposure time is obtained at the low kvp / mA setting. Many high-energy x-ray exposure times will prolong the exposure time due to significant decay. We advocate measuring the exposure time in the range of 50 to 80kv and 25 to 50mA Measurement.

The 815 watch is a precision measuring instrument specially designed to reduce damage to the x-ray head, but he has three situations where he can obtain accurate x-ray waveform samples in a longer time.

Some x-ray detectors, especially old-fashioned instruments, can detect the peak value of x-ray exposure for a long period of time. In the general mode and high-speed mode, the instrument will wait 30ms before starting the measurement time. This waiting time is It is doubled in high-resolution mode, and the actual measurement time is doubled.
Some DC and multi-phase electron beams move very quickly, but he has a large overshoot. If the overshoot time is greater than 30ms in high-resolution mode, you will get an accurate reading of the true maximum kvp.
