**Positive Impact on the Development of the Sporting Goods Manufacturing Industry**
Date: October 28, 2014 09:10
The study reveals a stable long-term cointegration relationship between key economic indicators and the development of the sporting goods manufacturing industry. A unit root test was conducted on the residual sequence using four different methods. The results of the horizontal test strongly reject the null hypothesis of a unit root at the 1% significance level, confirming that the residuals are stationary. This implies a long-run equilibrium relationship between the variables LnSALE (sales) and LnEDU (education level).
Similarly, when applying the same method to another set of variables—LnSALE and LnPGDP (per capita GDP)—the test results also reject the presence of a unit root at the 1% level, indicating a consistent long-term relationship between national income and sporting goods production.
The panel cointegration analysis further supports these findings. It provides an objective assessment of how changes in cultural education levels and regional income influence the growth of the sporting goods manufacturing sector across 22 regions in China. Most of the T-test values for the beta coefficients are statistically significant at the 1%, 5%, or 10% levels, suggesting strong and positive relationships.
In particular, the beta coefficients are mostly positive, which indicates that higher levels of cultural education and per capita income have a lasting and beneficial impact on the development of the sporting goods industry. This suggests that as residents’ education improves and their income rises, there is increased demand for sports-related products, driving industrial growth.
Overall, the empirical evidence highlights the importance of investing in education and economic development to foster sustainable growth in the sporting goods manufacturing sector. These findings offer valuable insights for policymakers and industry stakeholders aiming to promote long-term economic development through sport-related industries.
