Next, there are four water points in the salt spray chamber that require attention. Two of them—salt water tank and the solution reservoir—should be filled with saltwater, while the other two must use pure or distilled water to prevent mineral buildup and corrosion.
It’s important to check the inlet and spray pressures regularly to ensure they remain within the manufacturer's specified range. Incorrect pressure levels can lead to uneven spraying, which may compromise the test results.
The saturator water should be replaced on a regular basis, and always make sure the water inlet valve is properly closed after each refill. Leaving it open can cause water leakage and potential electrical hazards.
Additionally, the inside of the cabinet and the water seal should be cleaned and inspected frequently. Make sure that all nozzles, drains, and misting systems remain unobstructed to maintain consistent spray patterns and efficient operation.
Keep the salt solution clean and free from contaminants. Dirty salt water can clog the nozzles, leading to poor spray quality and inaccurate test outcomes.
Never open the cover during testing. Doing so can disrupt the internal temperature balance and cause salt spray to escape, affecting both the test environment and the accuracy of the results.
Finally, perform routine maintenance checks to ensure the entire unit remains clean and in good working order. This includes wiping down surfaces, checking connections, and inspecting for signs of wear or damage.
