Ninja launches new 3D printed wire: flexible Cheetah and hard Armadillo


NinjaFlex has achieved significant success in recent years due to its excellent use of thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) of different formulations to produce high performance 3D printed wires. Recently, they have jointly launched two new high-performance 3D printed wires – Cheetah and Armadillo – together with Fenner Drives, a subsidiary of Fenner PLC, a global leader in reinforced polymers.


According to China's 3D printer network, Cheetah is a flexible polyurethane cable that is compatible with all desktop-grade 3D printers. The settings are the same as for general ABS. It features faster printing speeds (up to 60mm/s) than other flexible materials, excellent interlayer adhesion and a certain degree of flexibility. Therefore, this material is very suitable for 3D printing of functional parts that require high definition, such as gaskets, handles, hinges, seals, etc.


The nature of Armadillo is the opposite. It is a hard wire with high durability to external forces and resistance to greases and other chemicals, making it ideal for making functional parts that require high strength, toughness and impact resistance. Such as fasteners, gears, guide rails, splints, etc. In addition, the bridging property of this material is also very good, so the usual curling problem does not occur when printing.


The flexible Cheetah will be officially launched in January 2016, while the hard Armadillo will wait until early February.
