Dispersant development trends

(1) Thickening dispersants develop from natural type to synthetic type. This is because of the high efficiency of synthetic polymers. Second, synthetic polymers have a variety of properties that can provide a variety of varieties and specifications, but also provide a variety of performance and function products. Second, synthetic polymers have a low biological oxygen demand, which is particularly beneficial in wastewater treatment.
(2) Dispersants develop toward high surface activity. In recent years, with the application of highly hydrophobic fibers such as chemical fibers and inorganic fibers in the papermaking industry, higher demands have been placed on the dispersants used. It is required that the dispersant used has strong wetting and penetrability, and requires higher adsorption characteristics and the ability to reduce the surface tension of the solution.
(3) The selection of dispersants is progressing from single to complex type, and the use of methods has evolved from single-step to multi-step methods. Many experimental results show that the effect of adding a single dispersant is often limited, but sometimes if several different dispersants are compounded, it will have unexpected effects. This may be due to the synergistic effect between the dispersants to achieve the best dispersion effect. There have also been many changes in the method of adding the dispersant, often by first adding a surfactant to wet the fiber and then adding the viscosity modifier in several steps. Experiments have shown that adding such dispersions is much better than adding them at one time, and the amount of dispersant can also be saved.
