How to Adjust Your Cabinets and Drawers

At Laurysen, we understand that every kitchen and bathroom is unique, which is why our cabinets and drawers are designed to adapt seamlessly to the real-world conditions of your home. Most spaces aren’t perfectly square, and over time, even the best-built homes tend to shift slightly. That’s why we’ve made our cabinets and doors fully adjustable—so you can tailor them to fit your space effortlessly. All you’ll need is a standard Phillips screwdriver (the type with the ‘X’ pattern). To give you a better idea of how this works, here’s a quick video from our very own Corey Laurysen, showing you step-by-step how to make any necessary adjustments: [Embedded Video]

Adjusting Your Cabinets

The innovative design of our cabinet hinges and back plates allows for independent adjustments across three dimensions. Watching the video above will give you a clearer picture of how the adjustments work visually. Here’s how you can make those adjustments:
  1. The front screw controls the side-to-side alignment.
  2. The back screw adjusts the depth (how far in or out the door sits).
  3. The center screw handles vertical height adjustments.
One of the best things about these adjustments is that they’re forgiving—you can’t really go wrong. If an adjustment doesn’t work as expected when closing the cabinet door, simply reverse it. As long as you avoid forcing anything, you’ll be fine.

Adjusting Your Drawers

Our drawer boxes come with two-dimensional adjustability:
  1. For height adjustments, loosen screw #2 (the top one) slightly to allow the panel to move. Then, use screw #1 (located at the bottom) to set the drawer to the desired height. Once it’s adjusted correctly, tighten both screws to secure it in place.
  2. To adjust the sides, loosen screw #2 slightly, move the drawer front to the correct position, and then tighten screw #2 again.
  3. For angle corrections, loosen either the top or bottom screw depending on your needs—both will influence the angle. Alternatively, you can insert an angle correction wedge, tighten screw #2, and trim off the excess. This process is known as "shimming."
We’ve designed our adjustment screws to be user-friendly, ensuring that nearly anyone can handle the process. However, if you’re unsure about your DIY skills, consider enlisting a friend’s help. A small gesture like buying them a cup of coffee would definitely make their day! We take pride in creating products that fit your lifestyle and your home. Whether you’re a seasoned DIY enthusiast or someone who prefers to leave it to the pros, our adjustable cabinets and drawers are built to accommodate your needs. Let us know if you have any questions—we’re always here to help!
