At the recent Green Packaging Development Strategy Symposium, Zhao Renquan, Director of the White Pollution Prevention Committee of the Shanghai Environmental Protection Industry Association, revealed that the foamed lunch boxes can be recycled or used as combustion improvers after recycling. This made the foamed lunch box originally regarded as waste become the treasure of the business.
According to reports, in a few short years, the foaming lunch boxes can be far from the eyes of Shanghai residents. The key lies in the role of economic leverage. According to regulations, each foamed lunch box is paid by the manufacturer with 3 cents of environmental protection (recycling). The fee was paid to the recycler by 1 cent each. As a result, the recycling rate of the foamed lunch box was greatly increased. In Shanghai last year, 220 million foaming lunch boxes were recovered, about 1,400 tons. From January to June this year, recycling foam was recycled. The lunch boxes have reached 98 million, and an average of 540,000 are recycled daily.
