New Progress in Collaborative Research on Directional Repair of Bile Duct Injury at the Institute of Genetic Development
Extrahepatic bile duct injury due to gallbladder removal or tissue injury has gradually become a common disease of the digestive system. Due to the structural and functional characteristics of the bile duct, the current method of clinical bile duct repair is not ideal, and it usually causes disease recurrence and leads to more serious complications. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a stent material suitable for the repair of bile duct injury.
Dai Jianwu's research group of Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Nanjing Gulou Hospital cooperated with the natural scaffold material collagen to prepare a functional scaffold material suitable for repair of bile duct injury, and verified that this functional scaffold material can be effective in a large animal model Promote the repair of bile duct injury. In this study, researchers prepared fibroblast growth factor that specifically binds collagen, which can specifically combine with collagen scaffold material to form a functional scaffold material; a partial bile duct excision injury model for pigs was established, and the functional scaffold material was applied to Bile duct injury repair, the results show that this functional scaffold material can effectively promote the repair of bile duct structure and function, and has no effect on liver function.
The scaffold material suitable for repair of bile duct injury developed by this work shows a good clinical application prospect.
