As one of Europe's largest and most advanced mineral water filling manufacturers, Sant` Anna di Vinadio recently installed the Electric 80 automatic pallet system.

Sant'Anna di Vinadio was founded in 1996 when the Bertone family decided to enter the mineral water market. The source of the water is the Vinadio mountain range in Piedmont, which has a history of more than 500 years.

The production capacity of the filling line is 3 million bottles/day, the packaging specification is from 0.5 to 2 liters, the maximum frequency is 180 trays/hour, and the maximum transport volume is 8 trays/hour.

The company decided to install the automatic conveyor system and installed the Electric 80 system. According to the project manager Andrea Pergolizzi, the biggest challenge was to stack three pallets at three different heights in the warehouse at the same time.

Prior to the installation of the new system, the manual handling of the trays could cost up to 500,000 Euros/year.

The new solution can meet high-speed operating speeds (35,000 bottles/hour). In addition, due to the influence of humidity (the production line is cleaned by water guns), the installation of the system also requires proper protection facilities.

The solution was adopted: The company used laser coding technology to replace the ink coding system. In the past, this system was not selected because of its high cost. After the first set of packaging lines were installed, MARKEM Markon provided the first Smartlase 110 laser coder with safety features, suction and positioning devices to ensure moisture protection, and the relevant protection class was IP65. . The SmartLase 110 can be coded directly on the PET bottle, not like the cap or the label on the label, but is permanently and clearly marked. After Marken was installed, the other two production lines needed similar equipment. The laser coder needed to be installed on two existing production lines. The two line production lines also installed the old ink machine.
