DSM Engineering Plastics recently developed Akulon XP resin, based on polyamide 6 (PA 6), an innovative barrier resin material used primarily in multilayer oxygen barrier films.
This new material is different from general PV 6 resin. It has special processing characteristics and can greatly increase the output.
Compared with the films made of common materials, this new material also has the following advantages: The die-casting film made of Akulon XP material has much better layer uniformity; Akulon XP material makes the paper coating technology produce faster. The cartridge is more stable; Akulon XP material also provides better roll stability for blown film.
